One of the most crucial parts of having a Facebook Group is being able to populate it. Once you have your first 5000 members, it is going to be easy to filter the ones that are ideal from them.
How can you generate leads and fill the Facebook Group with your ideal customers? In this article, you will learn exactly how to do that. And to make it short, you will go to other Groups for lead generation.
There are two methods of growing your Facebook Group. And we have conveniently placed a detailed step-by-step explanation of each of them in this article.
Method 1: Attract Group Members after engaging in similar Facebook Groups:
1) Choose your Facebook Groups of interest
You need to select your ideal five Groups.
Selecting more than that might be tricky. Staying active in more than five is very tedious work. For that matter, actively participating in just one Group requires a lot of attention. The Groups you select should be the most active and the most relevant to your niche.
You can choose your preferred Facebook Group based on these three criteria:
- The Group has relevant content posted on regular basis;
- Either high or moderate engagement in the Group – posts on average get around 20-1000 likes;
- Not too many ads in the Facebook Group feed, Group owners don’t allow spam. Try to avoid Facebook Groups that add many posts and spammy ads, have no likes or comments. They serve no purpose to you and will not help with lead generation;
Think of a keyword that will help you find a fitting Facebook Group. Something short and relevant to you will work.
Then the Facebook algorithm will suggest relevant Groups you can choose from. If you put your keyword in the Facebook search bar, you will see search results that match yours.
For example, Facebook will suggest “health tips for women” if you search for a “health” keyword. Then look at the Groups that show up.
Sometimes, your Groups of interest turn out to be Private. No worries. In that case, you might need to join it first. Then you will be able to see its contents and measure its activity.
Here is an example of a Facebook Group that is an illustration of a potentially fitting Group. Posts in it have decent engagement, including likes and comments.
To sum up, choose 5 Facebook Groups you are the most comfortable with engaging in. If you are a member of a Group that has a paid membership, that is perfect! Its members are exactly what you need. Those guys have proven they are buyers and they are paying money to get into Facebook Groups. That’s what you want.
Now, how to kick off your Group’s engagement and add 200 friends overnight?
2) Join in on the conversations.
Open your Group Feed. Start replying to all the posts you see starting from top to bottom.
By default, Facebook either shows you the most recent posts or the top posts. No need to change that setting. But you can experiment for yourself and see which one works better for you.
3) In each post, you should like, comment, and tag the author. You could also reply to other people and their comments underneath those posts.
It can get quite repetitive, but that’s all you should do for 15 minutes straight. Like, comment – tag will be your mantra for the time being.
What do you do after that?
4) Make a post. Learn more about types of posts you can publish here
Beware of posting links though. It will not only get your post deleted based on Group rules, but it lowers post visibility. So don’t include links in the posts themselves.
You can include them in the comments.
Keep this in mind: GIFs are also links. So reupload them as videos if you want to still have your post ranking!
It can be a value post, an article, or an engagement post. Or a question, or a quote. It can even be a picture. Borderline is that it should be something engaging. But after you’ve done this previous step, interacting with the feed 15 minutes before posting, you will get lots of attention on your content.
With so many eyes following your post now, make sure it fits the bill, is not entirely spammy, and is interesting for your customers.
5) Immediately Love all the comments under your post, but don’t reply to them. You post the content and people start reacting. If you’ve done everything right so far, comments will pile up under your post. And after a few minutes, you will have lots of them. Wait a few minutes. Then gradually, one-by-one start replying to them. You can even write a comment yourself when you run out of other people’s comments.
Why should you do it this way? Because every time you reply your post gets to the Top of the Group feed.
This way, you are steadily pushing the post back into the feed. That means more visibility, and therefore more people clicking on your Facebook Profile. Maybe they will want to join your Group. Maybe they will even follow you and start the conversation in private. Both options are beneficial to you since those people might be your ideal customers. After understanding what they need, you can offer something to your ideal customer.
6) Last but not least, you want to Friend everyone who interacts with your post. Send Friend requests only to the people who are positive about the content you post. You don’t need haters in your Facebook space, right?
As long as you do the steps and your post gets decent attention, you should be able to get around 200 more friends daily. People will start recognizing your Facebook Profile and your face. And responding to your requests more enthusiastically. Then they will eagerly accept your friend’s request. That way, you will also not trigger a Facebook regulation violation when you get lots of new friends daily. Sounds like a dream come true, right? Now, let’s jump to the next method.
Method 2: Find ideal friends in the Members list by keywords
Another method that you could be using is you could be going to the Groups Members tab. To do that, you should open the Group directory. If you can’t see it in the Group, the admin made it private.
1) The best category to choose is the Members with things in common. Those people you have shared friends with those guys. Go through the list and send friend requests to them. Because you have friends in common, you may expect them to Friend you back.
2) Facebook also provides you with some information about the people. Look through the list and identify which keywords can tell you this is your ideal client. You can literally search for a specific keyword because of how Facebook works. For example, if you look for coaches, look for “coach” or “consultant” and you will see them in the list.
Or if you’re looking for specific interests, well, that might be a little bit trickier. But you can assume that if a person is in a certain Facebook Group may have a certain interest.
After you find the ideal client press, try to friend them by clicking “+ Add Friend”.
3) Keep doing that until you add 50 friends from that list. There are a lot of extensions that allow you to automate this process.
4) An important note! Make sure to do this only once per 24 hours and don’t do it ultra-fast. Otherwise, Facebook might get angry at you. Your account might get limited or temporarily banned.
5) Remember to not send messages to people who are not your friends on Facebook. Even though this is a harmless activity if the person already requested to be your Friend. But if you were the one who requested it and they haven’t accepted it, these people can flag your message as spam. That is even if they messaged you first. That will damage the reputation of your Facebook account.
The first step is to become Friends, wait until they accept. Then start messaging them.
Congratulations! Your Facebook Profile now is a lead generation tool.
Once you reach a limit of 5000 friends, you will not be able to add more friends. But you can start unfriending inactive people. Those who don’t engage with your posts or don’t communicate with you in the messenger.
There are a lot of extensions to help you. They check who has interacted with your content or sent you direct messages. That is within the last period of the specified time, which you choose yourself.
There is another useful Chrome extension called FriendFilter. You can check it out on this link: https://friendfilter.io/. It measures the activity of your friends and filters out the least active. You can delete them to add more active ideal customers and leads.
To sum up the information, all you need to do is to find your five best Facebook Groups and start friending 50 ideal customers every day. Remember that the hardest step to take is the first one. So do not be scared to try it. And within 3 months you will get to your desired amount of 5000 members. While you are populating your Group, don’t forget to post engaging content to it so people stay with you and want to buy from you!
