To integrate Sendlane with Group Doorman, you’ll need to install our Chrome extension for the group you’re currently managing. You’ll also need a Sendlane account.
Adding Sendlane to Group Doorman integrations
1.Let’s get started by opening Group Doorman and heading over to the Manage groups tab (1). From there, just click on the +Add integration button (2) and you’ll be on your way to setting up your integration smoothly.
2. Next, take a look at the list of integrations that are available, find Sendlane, and click on it.
3. When you click on Sendlane, a setup form will appear. At this stage, you have two options: either create a new account or choose an existing one if you have used Sendlane before. Pick the option that suits you best!
Adding API Token
4. To get started, go to your Sendlane profile. Look for the Settings icon (1) on the left side menu and click on it. Next, select API (2) from the menu that appears. Once the API page loads, click on the +API Token button (3).
5. Name your API Token in the creation form (1), and click on the Create button (2).
6. Your API key is now set and ready to go! You’ll see it displayed in a pop-up message. Simply click on the Copy API Token button to use it for the Group Doorman integration. It’s also a good idea to save your API Key – having a local backup of your key is always wise in case you need it later on. Click Done (2) when you’re finished.
7. Go to the Group Doorman form and paste your API Token into the corresponding field and then click the Save and continue button (2)
Adding a tag at Group Doorman
8. In the Group Doorman form, enter the name of the tag in the appropriate field. This tag will then be transferred to Sendlane by Group Doorman when creating a contact.
Creating a List
9. Go back to Sendlane and look for the Audience icon (1) in the side menu. Give it a click to proceed. Next, click on the Lists tab (2) in the header and then click on the +List button (3) once it appears on the page.
10. The list creation form will appear on the right side. Give your list a name (1), select Sender profile (2) ( or create one if you don’t have any), and then click on the Confirm button (3).
11. Let’s go to the Group Doorman form. Click on the List field and select the list you’ve just created from the drop-down.
Creating a Custom field at Sendlane
Group Doorman allows you to post your group members’ responses to Sendlane using custom fields. You’ll need to specify which response corresponds to each field. Additionally, Group Doorman can automatically generate default custom fields for you. To do this, simply click on the Create Fields for Answers button.
12. For manually creating a custom field at Sendlane, go to the Audience tab (1) in the side menu, then go to the Personalization tab (2) in the header. Finally, click on the +Custom Field (3) button.
13. Fill out the form that pops up by giving a name to your custom field (1), selecting the field type (2), and then simply click the Confirm button (3). Awesome job! Your custom field has been successfully created!
Completion of setup
14. In Group Doorman, you can manage custom fields in two ways. You can either choose the fields created in Sendlane (1) or create new fields instantly (2). If you’ve made any changes to the fields in Sendlane, select Refresh fields (3). Finally, click Save and close (4) when you’re done managing.
