How to integrate Group Doorman with HubSpot

To integrate HubSpot with Group Doorman, you’ll need to install our Chrome extension for the group you’re currently managing. You’ll also need a HubSpot account.

Adding HubSpot to Group Doorman integrations

1.Let’s get started! First, open up Group Doorman and navigate to the Manage groups tab (1). From there, click on the +Add integration button (2) to begin setting up your integration.

2. Next, check the list of available integrations, find HubSpot, and click on it.

3. After picking HubSpot, you’ll see a setup form. At this point, you can either make a new account or pick an existing one if you’ve used HubSpot before. Choose whatever works best for you!

4. In your HubSpot account, click on the settings icon in the main navigation bar. On the left side, you will find a menu where you can click on Integrations (1). Look for the tab labeled Private App (2) and click on it. A new page will appear, where you can find the Create a private app button (3) at the top.

5. When the creation form pops up, give your App a name (1). Set a logo (2) and add a description (3). Then, click on the Scopes tab at the top of the page (4).

6. Next, under the CRM tab, find in the drop-down crm.lists, crm.objects.contacts, crm.schemas.contacts, mark both -read and write checkboxes for each scope and click Create app (2).

7. Click Continue Creating in the modal window to go to the next step.

8. Great job! Your app was created! Click on the Show token button (1), and then click Copy (2). Your API token was copied!

9. The next step is to put your API Token in the right spot in Group Doorman.

Creating a List at HubSpot

10. Go back to HubSpot and look for Contacts in the main navigation bar. (1), then choose Lists (2). Next, click the Create list (3) button in the upper-right corner of the page.

11. Now, name your list (1), select Active or Single list under the “What kind of list you’re creating?” (2), and click Next (3).

12. Choose the filter (1), set its condition (2), and click Save list (3).

13. Your list is now prepared and ready to go. Simply select it from the dropdown menu in the corresponding field within the Group Doorman setup form.

Creating a Custom field at HubSpot

Group Doorman allows you to post your group members’ responses to HubSpot using custom fields. You’ll need to specify which response corresponds to each field. Additionally, Group Doorman can automatically generate default custom fields for you. To do this, simply click on the Create Fields for Answers button.

14. To create a custom field in HubSpot, first, click on the settings icon (1) in the main navigation bar. Then, scroll down to the side menu and click on Properties. (2) Once the Properties page is open, you can easily create a new property by clicking on the Create property button (3).

15. In the form, fill in all the fields and click Next.

16. Now choose the field type, enter the preview of the field (1), and click Next (2).

17. In the next step, select property rules and click the Create button. Your custom field was created!

18. In Group Doorman, you can manage custom fields according to your needs. You can either select the fields you created in HubSpot (1) or create new ones instantly (2). If you make any changes to the custom fields in SendGrid, simply choose the Refresh fields option (3). When you’re finished managing the custom fields, just click on Save and close (4).
