How to integrate Group Doorman with VerticalResponse

To integrate VerticalResponse with Group Doorman, you’ll need to install our Chrome extension for the group you’re currently managing. You’ll also need a VerticalResponse account.

Adding VerticalResponse to Group Doorman integrations

1. To get started, let’s open Group Doorman and go to the Manage groups tab (1). Once you’re there, simply click on the +Add integration button (2), and you’ll be well on your way to setting up your integration seamlessly.

2. Next, take a look at the list of integrations that are available, scroll down, find VerticalResponse, and click on it.

3. When you choose VerticalResponse, you’ll see a setup form. Simply keep the Select account field as Create new account (1), and then click on the Sign in button (2). If necessary, sign in to VerticalResponse in the window that appears, and finally, click on Save and continue (3) to proceed.

4. Go back to VerticalResponse and find the Contacts tab (1) in the header. Simply click on it to continue. On the Contacts page, you’ll see the list that was already created when you registered with VerticalResponse (2). You can either use this list for Group Doorman integration or create a new one. To create a new list, just click on the Create new list button (3).

5. Give your list a name and click Next.

6. Now, let’s go back to the Group Doorman form. In the List field drop-down, choose either the pre-existing list or the one you created earlier.

Creating a Custom field at VerticalResponse

Group Doorman offers a convenient way to post your group members’ responses to VerticalResponse using custom fields. You’ll need to specify which response corresponds to each field. Additionally, Group Doorman can automatically generate default custom fields for you. To enable this feature, simply click on the Create Fields for Answers button.

7. To manually create a custom field in VerticalResponse, first, go to the header and click on the Settings icon (1). From the drop-down menu that appears, select Custom Fields (2).

8. On the opened page, click on the Add Custom Field button (1). You can add as many fields as you need. After clicking the button, name your fields accordingly (2). Once you have named your fields, click on Save (3) to finalize the process.

15. In Group Doorman, there are two ways to manage custom fields. You can either select the fields created in VerticalResponse (1) or create new fields instantly (2). If you’ve made any changes to the fields in VerticalResponse, choose the option to refresh the fields (3). Once you have finished managing, simply click on Save and close button (4).
