How to integrate Group Doorman with Mautic

To integrate Mautic with Group Doorman, you’ll need to install our Chrome extension for the group you’re currently managing. You’ll also need a Mautic account.

Adding Mautic to Group Doorman integrations

1. To get started, let’s open Group Doorman and go to the Manage groups tab (1). Once you’re there, just click on the +Add integration button (2) and you’ll be on your way to setting up your integration smoothly.

2. Next, take a look at the list of integrations that are available, scroll down, find Mautic, and click on it.

3. When you choose Mautic, a setup form will pop up. At this point, you have two choices: either create a new account or select an existing one if you’ve used Mautic in the past. Choose the option that works best for you!

4. The next thing you need to do is just copy and paste the URL of your Mautic instance into the field provided in the Group Doorman form.

5. Let’s head back to Mautic. Look for the Settings icon (1) and give it a click. From there, select Users (2) in the side menu that pops up.

6. Next, simply click on the +New button when it appears.

7. Now, enter the First and Last name of the new user, select their role (1), and set their Username and Password (2). Afterward, copy the Username and then the Password to use in the next step.

8. Go to the Group Doorman form and paste your Username into the corresponding field. Then repeat the same step for the Password.

9. Go back to Mautic, enter the Email address for your new user, confirm your Password (1), and then click on Save & Close (2) when you’re finished.

10. Now return to Group Doorman and click Save and continue to proceed to the next step.

Creating a Segment in Mautic

11. Next, click on the Segments tab (1) in the left-side menu. When the segments page opens, click on the +New button (2) in the upper-right corner of the page.

12. Give your segment a name (1) and click Save & Close (2).

13. Now, let’s navigate back to the Group Doorman form. Select the segment, that you’ve just created, from the drop-down on the Segment field.

14. In the Group Doorman form, fill in the appropriate field with the name of the tag. This tag will be transferred to Mautic when creating a contact.

Creating a Custom field in Mautic

With Group Doorman, you have the option to post your group members’ responses to Mautic using custom fields. You just need to specify which response corresponds to each field. Additionally, Group Doorman can automatically generate default custom fields for you. Simply click on the Create Fields for Answers button to activate this feature.

15. To manually create a custom field in Mautic, click on the Settings icon (1) in the upper right corner of the page, then select Custom Fields (2) in the side menu, that appears.

16. On the Custom Fields page, click on the +New button.

17. Once the custom field creation page is open, simply give your custom field a name (1) and then click on the Save & Close button (2).

18. In Group Doorman, there are two ways to manage custom fields. You can either select the fields created in Mautic (1) or create new fields instantly (2). If you’ve made any changes to the fields in Mautic, choose the option to refresh the fields (3). Once you have finished managing, simply click on Save and close button (4).
